A good day...

I worked really hard today and my poor fingers really hurt from wire wrapping and opening / closing jump rings.

I promised myself to do my best to update the Shop! almost daily with new items this summer.

Ever think really hard about someone and they end up calling you the next day? Just out the blue, someone perhaps you didn't think you would ever see again...

Anyways, this was a weekend filled with moments, for lack of better way to describe it.

Saturday night I celebrated my best girl's birthday with a night of dancing. I was a bit of a 5th wheel since it was two couples and me but hey I tend to have fun no matter what.
I made her this little necklace as a present

I am glad that 2008 is over and a new year filled with hope is here!
My resolution this year is to wake up every morning with a smile on my face. Just a happy outlook to face the world ;)

Ohhh on Sunday I gave myself a little present! I upgraded my Flickr to a PRo account!!!!!!!!!!!
I started to really miss the images that were hidden because I was over 200. I love flickr and I really love the community it creates around photos. So now I am a Pro!!!

After a few long weeks these lovelies arrived and are available in the shop. I have decided that this will be the last time I rely on old art for new work. From now on only new images and ideas.

Tomorrow night we are going downtown for my the shop unofficial art show , since I only have 2 paintings and there are a lot of other artists.

I am really excited about these new cards. I have been dreaming of them for a few months now. I couldn't decide on how to attach the images to the cards without just gluing them on. And then an idea was born! Why waste beautiful prints on just the cards? The images are attached with really cute photo corners, this way you can peel off the corners gently and have the print to frame. Either for your own enjoyment or the receiver of your lovely note will have 2 gifts in 1. They are coming soon to the shop, as soon as I have a little photo session with them. Yey.
I think I am going to have in a set of 3, one of each design. The cards are also bigger than my usual size they are 5x7 inches.

Paul and I had a big movie weekend. We saw Transformers on Friday night. Wow, I loved it. I didn't know what to expect apart from what Paul has been telling me for months. It was great and funny. It takes a lot for me to think a movie is funny, thus this was wonderful. Paul also has a few Generation 1 Transformers coming from e-bay. So far we have AstroTrain and Megatron. I am not allowed to touch them.
Also we saw the new Die Hard last night. Loved it too. Kill a helicopter with a car and a jet with a truck wow. Great action!
Tonight we are off to birthday dinner at Paul's parents' house. Mmmm Cake!

New and exciting Banana Lip Balm in the shop today!!!!!! I also have Mint and Cherry but no 'action' shots for them yet. You can choose them as flavours in my Two and three pack.
I have cute labels ready for them. I had to print them at Paul's parents' due to my unfortunate printer death. I almost have enough money in my PayPal for it, a few more sales to go. I am excited because I will be able to do printed note cards and more.

On a personal note. Paul and I now have matching credit cards and cheques with both of our names on them. How grown up ;)

One lonely ACEO

Once upon a time there were two of these ACEOs. One was fortunate to find a new home and the other was relisted many times. Upon being featured a few times in treasuries and such, this heart ACEO is yet to find a home after 450 views. After the card expired the other day, I debated a while if I should relist it. I still believe that there is a home out there for this wonderful ACEO titled 'In a dream: Honesty"

;)I made about 20 of these marble magnets this weekend. I made some for Valentines and when I had to mail them I discovered that they were way too thick and cost a fortune to sip. This is why I decided to make them for the craft show this weekend. No mailing involved. I also discovered that some of the marbles are a lot thinner and can be mailed. Needless to say there is a very cute set available in The shop
The rest of the shop is expiring at an alarming rate ;( and I really don't want to re-list most of the items. Yet I have been selling a few older items from time to time. For one I will wait until after the show and see what is left. Some things I might use myself like some of the note cards and other things I will re-list when I don't have anything new to list. Overall I wanted to scale down the shop, but I was hoping that it would be by selling a lot of the items. I have been stuck at 70 sales for the last week and a half. Etsy is my bread and butter right now and so far nothing much is happening.
The good news is that the new Biz cards arrived over a week ago and since I ordered another 500 while they were over 75% off. ( I can't believe I spent more on 250 the week before) and got a few freebies like Biz card magnets and a stamp to use on the back of my cards and I got that package today with an extra 500 cards. After a few failed attempts to stamp with it I figured that I need to apply pressure on the entire stamp.
I am also fighting a cold type thing that is taking my energy away and giving me headaches and dry throat grrrr

I am really happy how this card turned out. I combined blue and coral and the combination is wonderful.

Thank you Amy for the wonderful afternoon. Looking through old yearbooks can really remind you of where you came from. Who I was five years ago and who I am today, seam like two different people.

Goodbye sweet little painting.
This little and old piece has finally found a new home and will fly to it this weekend.
As for me, I applied to a job today
Finished the edges on a few paintings, I have a habit of not doing that but since I am taking them the craft show they have to be done.
Started 2 more canvases for the other pieces to go with the 'Self Reflection'. I decided to list the painting on Etsy, worse case it will just sit there.
Packed a few promos to send to another etsy seller. I also realized that I need to pay for my PO box, yikes I completely forgot

I love working with ink on these small projects. I need to look into buying some good ink pens. Anybody know of a good brand?

On the job front- no news and no news is NOT good news

I have almost completed a new 12x12 painting that I am excited to share with you soon
and I really should work on the big one but the face is very intimidating to do

I finished this the other day and today I really finished it.
I love doing cutsom work and I really need more to come my way.

This week I am studying for exams. I am glad that I only have one more chapter to read in my HR textbook. The chapters are way too long, I am talking 60 pages.
Then Personal Finance and Small business finance. At 9pm next Tuesday my university career will be over ;)
For the 1st time in my life I won't have something to do. Wow.

I also Added these wonderful flowers to my shop. Perfect for your scrapbooking,aceo, atc mixed media projects. I love them.

School is keeping me really busy. This weekend I have to write a seven page strategic analysis. It is single spaced and worth a big chunk of my mark. Yakes.
Non the less here is something new that is in my shop. The dragonfly ACEO will be in my shop on Monday ;)

The Shop I either paint from reference or I go the other way around an create completely abstract paintings. Fantasy is not my cup of tea but from time to time, there is a little whimsical painting that finds itself out on my canvas. What do you think? A little too out there for me or just right on the button? I like it a lot because it is taking me away from my reality, the finance textbooks on my desk, and puts a little smile on my face.
